🐝 Caring: Supporting New Orleans

WHERE TO DIRECT RELIEF FROM HURRICANE IDA

On Sunday, August 29, Hurricane Ida struck Louisiana, leaving destruction and devastation in its path. As the people of Gulf Coast – including our own team at the Plan B New Orleans office – recover from the storm, we recognize the tremendous need that exists in the NOLA area. Looking to help residents bounce back? Here are a few resources to consider donating to:

The United Way of Southeast Louisiana has been stationed in New Orleans before, during, and after the storms. All monetary donations go directly to providing immediate, on-the-ground relief.

The Greater New Orleans Foundation has a Disaster Response and Restoration fund that helps funnel support to organizations and aid mobilizers.

Feed the Second Line supports the people who create New Orleans’ unique culture (including many musicians and performers who come from neighborhoods with long-standing resource shortages), and is currently working to secure and repair their homes. Β

Imagine Water Works leads the Mutual Aid Response Network, which activates for disaster readiness/response. Donations to their Hurricane Ida Relief & Recovery Fund will support local-led efforts.

Rebuilding Together New Orleans is helping clean-up and long-term recovery efforts, funded by monetary donations, or items purchased off of their Amazon wish list.

As the saying goes, β€œevery penny counts.” Thank you for considering a donation to help the people of New Orleans heal.
